One Punk’s Guide to Bizarro Fiction, by MP Johnson

Bizarro Central, the online home of the genre, describes bizarro fiction as the cult section of the literary world… What ties the genre together is a commitment to doing weird, surprising shit. Elements of horror and science fiction are common. Grossness is not unusual. Humor is almost always present. However, no two bizarro books are the same.

MP Johnson is the Wonderland Book Award-winning author of Dungeons & Drag Queens and six other bizarro and horror books. Her short fiction has appeared in Year’s Best Hardcore Horror, Dark Discoveries and many other publications. She has created a variety of zines, including the long running Freak Tension. She is the founder of Weirdpunk books, a press devoted to merging punk rock and genre fiction.
